Preserve the expression deliberately
Small changes around the eyes and muzzle can make a Maltipoo look very different. Ask for open eyes if visibility is the priority, or soft framing if you prefer a fluffier expression. Describe the muzzle as round, natural, or closely tidied.
If you like a top knot, ask whether the current head coat is long and healthy enough. Choose how it should connect to the ears and cheeks.
Three practical style directions
A puppy cut gives the body a tidy, fairly even silhouette. A teddy bear direction adds a more rounded face and balanced fullness. A top knot keeps extra head length while the body can remain practical.
- Keep fuller ears only if you can comb them regularly
- Ask for tidy feet if outdoor debris is a recurring issue
- Choose a tail finish separately from the body
- Mention any eye or skin concerns before grooming
Use plain language at check-in
You do not need to request clipper numbers. Say how much coat you want to see, point to the features you like in a reference, and ask the groomer to recommend an achievable length after checking the coat.
